ABOUT

With a childhood filled with memories of a family-owned clothing manufacturing factory in downtown Los Angeles, I developed a deep love for design and style. I received a sewing machine as a gift from her grandmother as a child which birthed the dream of becoming a designer. I pursued fashion design in high school where I took her first sewing class. A project my sewing teacher assigned required designing a garment and entering it into a fashion show where I walked down the runway in the dress. After high school, I decided to study Fashion Design for my Bachelors degree. I studied Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising at Cal State University of Long Beach where I later graduated with a bachelors degree. I interned for celebrity stylist Zoe Costello who worked with the artists Halsey, Tyga, Migos and Saweetie. After interning for several months, she was hired to be the assistant stylist to Zoe. Shortly after getting hired my focus shifted from self to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Throughout my college years I sold garments and accessories I designed under my maiden name Melissa Loor.  Embracing a higher calling, she decided to rebrand and honor her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  This is how My Lord Apparel was birthed.
